Home-stay Accommodation
What is Home-stay?
Home-stay means living with a local family or resident. It is a cultural exchange between a local individual or family (called a Host) and a visiting international student.
The student lives as a guest in the Host's home and the program is a great way for students to learn English and experience the USA lifestyle or any other part of the world countries. Home-stay is the safest and most successful way that a visiting student can begin their time abroad. Most host family will not charge you a fee for their accommodation and hospitality. Some will charge a very minimal fee which by far is very affordable than any other means of accommodation abroad.
What's included in Home-stay?
A clean furnished room (this includes items like a bed, desk, wardrobe, chair and a study lamp), as well as a supportive family environment and home to live in.
Meals (as specified) and Accommodation (including utilities)
Ongoing Home-stay Host and student support
24/7 professional phone support.
Some will provide internet and TV set for the student.
Students are matched by a fully trained agent according to the specific student needs and education provider location. The visiting student will have access to bathroom and laundry facilities as well. Students are welcome to extend their original home-stay placement and can choose a range of meal service options. When registering for our services, students should disclose if they want Home-stay Accommodation.
OFF-CAMPUS ACCOMMODATION
Some student might want to live off-campus where they have more ‘independence’. They cook for themselves and they are responsible for buying furniture and other househ
old items. More often than not, you will find two students living together in a rented apartment. They share cost and share common Kitchen, bathroom and dining room. Most houses are equipped with internet and cable TV portals. A fridge, cooker and dishwasher is also found in the house before they rent. One-month rent for a two bed-roomed apartment may range from $300-$700 depending on the region. When students rent a three bed-roomed house, this lowers their rental expenses drastically. Some cities are expensive than others.
